Star Legacy Foundation ~ Stillbirth Research & Education

Every worthwhile endeavor requires considerable time and energy. We encourage you to join us as we work to bring stillbirth issues to the attention of the public and support stillbirth research and education. There are many ways to help – through donations of time, talents and treasures. You might want to consider helping us in our communication efforts or by sponsoring a fund raising event or by making a donation. Some of our current giving options are described below, however we are certainly open to any suggestions you may have.

Honor A Child - Support the International Stillbirth Roundtable

To raise funding for the International Stillbirth Research Roundtable we will be offering parents, families and friends to honor the memory of a child lost too soon by purchasing a star. The name of the child will be put on the star in calligraphy along with his or her birth and/or death dates. These stars will be hung from the ceiling during the International Stillbirth Research Roundtable to provide an illustration of the volume of children that are lost each year in the US and around the room. We want thousands of children represented by these stars. Then - at the conclusion of the Roundtable, the star will be mailed to you for a keepsake.

Memorials and Donations

We gladly accept memorials and donations from family and friends to honor these precious children. Contributions are used to support stillbirth research and education projects. Memorials and donations can be made by clicking on the “Donate” button found throughout this website and are acknowledged on our Memorials and Donations page. In addition, by request we will add your child to our list of “STARS”.

Champions Program

Our Champions Program was created to support families and friends of stillborn children wanting sponsor events in honor of their child. Funds raised at these events support our ongoing research and education programs. Champions are recognized on our website, in our newsletter and the “Celebration of Hope” annual event.

Golf Benefit

Each year the Star Legacy Foundation sponsors a golf benefit in honor of Garrett Wimmer, son of Lindsey and Trent Wimmer. The golf benefit continues to grow each year and to date has raised over $40,000. Find details on the 6th Annual “Golfing for Garrett” or how you can participate and support this event.

iGive

iGive is a wonderful way to support the Star Legacy Foundation every time you shop online. Hundreds of merchants have signed up to donate a portion of purchases to the Star Legacy Foundation. It is easy and free to sign up.

Volunteer

Do you have talents that you would offer to the Star Legacy Foundation? We are always looking for help with various aspects of our organization. There are several ways you can volunteer but if you have talents not listed we would love to hear from you! There is also a form you can use to tell us about your interests in supporting the Star Legacy Foundation.

We encourage you to become a sustaining member of the Star Legacy Foundation. For a monthly donation of as little as $5 you can know that your ongoing support will keep the momentum going! Your monthly pledge can be automatically charged to your credit card via Paypal.

We will soon be launching an online auction featuring at least one very special item each month and perhaps more. You can support us by donating items to be auctioned and/or by bidding on auction items. All proceeds support Star Legacy programs.
