The STARS Study

The Study of Trends and Associated Risk for Stillbirth

If you:

have had a baby born at 28 weeks gestation or more - either alive or stillborn
you were 18 years or older when that baby was delivered,
you can read, write and understand English, then

we invite you to participate in our research study.

Thank you for your interest in our study of pregnancies in hopes of identifying risks for stillbirth. If you are a stillbirth mother, we are so very sorry for your loss, but very grateful that you wish to help. If you are a mother of a child born alive, we congratulate you on the addition to your family and are very grateful to you for taking the time to provide very valuable information to help us understand stillbirth.

The Details

We are conducting a survey of mothers who have delivered an infant living or whether stillborn. It is important that we have good participation from both groups. The purpose is to identify characteristics in each group that may provide clues for future research on how stillbirth tragedies might be avoided in the future.

For the results of this study to be relevant, we need a large number of mothers of both stillborn and live born infants to complete this survey. So we encourage you to please pass this information along to other Mothers that would be willing to participate.

The survey should take no more than 30 minutes to complete.
